5 people you want at your wedding

Every couple wants an amazing wedding, here’s five people you should invite to push it from great to out of this world awesome.
1. An awesome wedding celebrant

Your marriage celebrant is the first act of the day. The first person to get on a microphone and set the tone for the whole event. They speak life into your marriage and they inject a personal meaningful shot into the arm of your wedding. You can not fail by inviting an awesome celebrant into your wedding. Hint: Lucky in Love Marriage Celebrant Kimberly Sanders – me ; )

2. A spectacular DJ

Wedding DJs are way better than they used to be. Not only do they bring the good audio gear so your tipi feels like a nightclub, but they know how to make a party with music. Search for a DJ that knows the music you love and knows how to work the dancefloor into a frenzy and the canapés into a jive fest. Check out www.dj4you.co.nz

3. A rocking musician

Live music, there’s nothing like it. Get one of these guys into your ceremony, your cocktail hour, your dinner party, the dancefloor, you can’t go wrong with a vocalist and a guitarist. If you want to go extra fancy get the whole band.
4. A kickass bartender

Whether they’re manning the whiskey bar or popping caps off craft beers the bartender is the secret service of your wedding. They know everything, everyone, and they’ll make or break your party.
5. A photographer with social skills

Your wedding photographer is going to be hanging out with you all day. Find someone you don’t want to lie to about why everyone is going into the next room without them. It doesn’t hurt if they take sweet pics too, but if you can’t get along with your wedding photographer like an old mate over a beer then fire them quickstart and find a person with a camera with a sense of humour quick! BLUSH Photography will put you at ease and capture your beautiful memories.

Celebrity Bridal Gowns ♥ Victoria Beckham

We all know that most celebrity marriages do not last, but we can be sure of one thing: stunning bridal gowns.

The Spice Girl turned fashion designer is a popular fashion icon known for her sharp and classy outfits. Her bridal gown, although she wore it back in 1999, is not an exception. When she married the handsome soccer player David Beckham, she wore a gorgeous structured ball gown designed by Vera Wang.

The Bar. I’m not saying that booze makes a wedding better, but it (usually) doesn’t hurt. And the last thing a guest wants to see is a cash bar – especially if they brought you a gift and possibly accrued travel expenses to attend the event. If your budget doesn’t stretch to a full open bar, figure out a compromise.Maybe opt for just beer, wine and soda, or serve only one or two specialty cocktails, to stay within your budget and make your guests happy.

The Food. There’s no doubt about it, guests expect to be fed well on your wedding day. In fact, years from now, family and friends likely won’t remember much about your centerpieces or favors, but they will be able to recall (in detail) if the chicken was cold, the salad wilted or the pasta was undercooked. So before you blow your budget on fancy invites or a dove release during the ceremony, make sure you’ve secured an amazing caterer for your day. Trust us, great food is worth sacrificing in other non-edible areas. Whether you have a buffet, a la carte, food truck or cocktail hour canapes – just make sure there is plenty of it!!

Celebrity Wedding Gowns ♥ Carolyn Bessette-Kennedy

This dress has always been one of my favourite. Carolyn Bessette was a former publicist for Calvin Klein and the wife of John F. Kennedy Jr., the son of President John F. Kennedy and Jacqueline Kennedy Onassis. Upon her marriage, Bessette-Kennedy’s relationship with her husband and her fashion sense became the subject of intense media scrutiny, drawing comparisons to her mother-in-law Jacqueline Kennedy Onassis.

Bessette-Kennedy asked Narciso Rodriguez of Cerruti to start desig her dress. The wedding took place on a remote Georgia island, Cumberland. Cumberland is 18 miles long and is accessible only by boat. There is no telephone service as none of the roads are paved. The wedding took place in a tiny wooden chapel, the First African Baptist Church, where the ceremony was held by candlelight. The altar was a simple wooden stand, and its cross was made of two sticks held together by pieces of string.

The couple, along with Bessette-Kennedy’s older sister Lauren, tragically died in a plane crash off the coast of Martha’s Vineyard in July 1999.

For tribes of the Tidong community in Northern Borneo newly married couples are required to be confined to their house while not emptying their bowels or urinating for three days and nights. Bonding time?

The Music. Whether it’s a live band or a DJ, couples want their guests out on that dancefloor having the time of their lives. A great band leader or DJ knows how to keep guests entertained without being annoying, as well as when is the right time to play the right music (like not playing a JLo dance hit during dinner). Ask family and friends for recommendations, and try to see your contenders in action before booking. If you’re DIYing with an iPod make sure you have a back up device and a charger on hand just in case. Check you have the right speaker set up and a mic for the ceremony and reception venues.

We all know that most celebrity marriages do not last, but we can be sure of one thing: stunning bridal gowns.

Marrying into one of America’s most influential political families, you need to be sure of one thing: you need to have a gorgeous bridal gown. Jacqueline did not disappoint. On her wedding day, she wore a wedding gown designed by Ann Lowe. It was made of fifty yards of silk taffeta and she wore it along with a family heirloom, her grandmother’s veil.
